Thank you. [The nod is comforting and she smiles in reply.]
I go to the shooting range regularly and I do know a little about guns as well. That is considered "not so direct", is it not? [Guns were something she had picked a long time ago after weighing all her options and deciding that it would be the quickest and simplest weapon for someone who had never fought a day in her life.] And I also know magic but it is quite limited in use.
Correct, I would consider guns as being non-direct. [ Kind of surprising how someone like her could think to wield a gun but...it's probably just a result of taking care of oneself in a place like this. ]
What kind of magic do you know? [ There have been heroes who can use "magic" and they all have been pretty limited, but Genos knows that the "magic" he has seen here and what he knows from back home and two entirely different things. ]
[It was actually the brain-child of a Veronica from two years ago, one who saw the world as completely black and white. If someone was going to threaten her family with attacks, then it only made sense that she needed a way to help them. But the more she learns about guns and about the complications she could cause by shooting someone, the less she wants to use them.]
I can use a simple attack magic as well as one that allows me to reflect magic. [The reflection magic is supposed to be a secret, but she's told it to so many people that she doesn't even bother at this point.]
Does it only reflect magic? Or can it reflect other things as well?
[ Genos isn't too certain on the specifics of magic and how it really works but that one sounds potentially really diverse if it could be applied to other things. And even if it couldn't, he has heard a fair amount of people here claiming magical capabilities... ]
I have always been told that it is only magic. But I have not tested it very extensively.
[Then again, magic was one of the most effective forms of offense back in her world. It was (relatively) cheap, usually powered by renewable parts of your body (though there were those who had still abused that and used commoners as nothing more than donors), and it could crumble stone and bring down castles. You could block it once, but never twice.]
I see. [ Though this gets him thinking even if on the same coin he doesn't want to push anything. However, something like this—it should be explored shouldn't it? For her safety and possibly others. ]
Would you ever want to test out sometime? I would think something like that may become rather useful at one point or another.
[ He hasn't been here long but he can tell it isn't exactly the safest of places. ]
[But back then no one had really ever offered to help her test this out. (Then again none of the squires and her guard wanted to point weapons at her to begin with. They were there to protect her. What if they missed?]
I would very much like to test it out and I also think that it would be very useful. Thank you.
Probably the nicest thing anyone has said to Genos since he arrived in Cerealia and he'll bow his head at the statement. He's truly thankful and touched by the sentiment. Even if it was expected as a hero....some of these things were just—dfferent. ]
And I will do my best to ensure that I do nothing to betray that trust.
[ He'll shake his head softly and start to head out towards the "outside" to see what awaits them. Before he goes too far, he'll make sure that she's following, of course. ]
(( ooc; I hope it's okay if we end the thread here? We can totally set up something about them testing out her shields in the coming month, if you're up for that c: ))
[She's following behind him with careful, confident steps and if he turns to make sure she's still there, she smiles the moment she catches his eye.]
(ooc: Of course! This feels like a logical end to this thread, so I think it's perfectly fine. And a log for them to test out her shields sounds great and I'd love to do that.)

[There was never any doubt in her mind that he would. That being said though, they should probably leave this place, huh?]
Are you going to stay here, Genos? Or shall we leave?
